State of my blog

Look at that, months have gone by again and I haven’t written anything new. I’m incredibly slow at writing any new blog posts, but I did start to change out some of the photos on the site again. My goal has been to rotate in some of my favorite more recent work every 3 or so months. I’ve been pulling some of the older photos as well and may start pulling all older photos whenever I do a refresh, though I’m not sure yet.

Recently I found out the contact form on the site isn’t working again. I’m not sure what’s going on with that, so if need to get in touch, I have my email address on the contact page or reach out to me on one of my social media profiles. As I’d like to expand the site to have some more functionality, like multi-languages, I should also be able to have the contact form fixed and the general speed of the site improved as well.

This week Instagram pulled their feed access through the 3rd party API, which now forces everyone to use their app or their site through a web browser. I was a heavy Iconosquare user since its tiled view of the Instagram feed allowed for a very quick way to browse through new content. Being forced back into using the single column view is painful and extremely slow, I feel like if it continues that way I’ll likely start using the platform less. Not sure why Instagram can’t make it faster, Tumblr’s single column view loads incredibly quick both in their app and a web browser.
