Evo memories

Out of the slide film that I finally developed there were a number of shots from the end of the Evo upgrade project. I believe these were all after the new engine went in and were during the break-in period, but before Cam was out here to shoot and test the car as well.

Looking down the passenger side of the Evo
Parked at Henry’s back when he lived at his parents. We were about to change the suspension.

At Henry's house about to install a new suspension on the Evo
Fortune 500’s sitting in the trunk, about to get installed.

Engine bay open, preparing to remove the old suspension
The engine bay looks a lot more stock than it does now. This was also before going to speed density I believe.

Evo parked off the freeway at an overlook
Parked off the I5 taking a break from traffic. I think we had to 600+ miles on the engine to break it in before tuning.

Looking head on at the Evo during sundown
The chopped nose with the painted lip and cusco brace is a good look, though I still prefer the Evo 7 front it ultimately ended up getting changed to.

Looking down on the Evo from my building, back when there wasn’t a building directly in front of my view.

It has been a long time in coming, but the Evo is nearly ready for some track days. All that is really left is to add a roll bar, harnesses, fire extinguisher. Last time I washed the car I spent some time getting new shots since I hadn’t really since the Evo 7 conversion was really completed. Next time I have it I’ll have to bring it out in the day some places and get new film photos of it.

It has been a while again. From the middle of 2017 till the end of the year things just got out of control on a lot of levels and I let things around here fall far behind. I still haven’t fixed the database issues that brought down a lot of what I had up for photos in my portfolio along with developing rolls of film that have been stacking up.

So what have I been doing with my time? I was mainly wrapped up in trying to finish the Evo race build finally, a number of setbacks with that were stressful and I’m about a year behind where I thought I’d be in its progress. I also spent a good deal of the end of the year working to get the new site for Chouseki Lab, which finally is done.

Now I really need to put more time in developing the film Cam and I have been stacking up. Though I still don’t think we have enough slide film to maximize the use of the Fuji kit for that. Maybe that means I need to get out and shoot more personal projects or jump back on Instagram and push myself to shoot more for that as well. No idea.. now I’m rambling. Back to lurking
